Why Advertise With Hello Lincoln

What made The Hello Lincoln What's On Guide such an instant success was the partnerships we had with organisations, venues and businesses throughout the city. Not least was our collaboration with the Visit Lincoln Destination Management Organisation (DMO).

Its Chief Executive Lydia Rusling outlines below her perception of the first three issues of the magazine.

First edition

2017 for Lincoln was set to be an exceptional year for events with stand-out exhibitions, a Knights’ Trail across the city and over 70 events on offer to visitors.

The partnership with the team at Bailgate Independent ensured all great things that were planned for the city were brought together in one beautifully presented magazine.

We wanted to present a vibrant and cultural city and the front cover picture was perfect for the first issue of Visit Lincoln What’s On. Working in partnership ensured the magazine was produced in time for Easter and was distributed locally, regionally and nationally - even appearing in the first class lounges along the east coast railway.

Second edition

We had set a precedent for a stand out magazine which showcased the breadth of what is on in the city. Approaching autumn and winter there were still plenty of events and activities to promote, but the addition of a seasonal gift guide with the support of two main shopping areas in the city was an exceptional addition.

Bringing together experiences in the city with exploring our shopping offer helped grow the magazine with lots more being printed and distributed.

Third edition

A special year for Lincolnshire was on the horizon with the commemoration of the RAF 100 anniversary. To mark our county’s long history with the RAF Visit Lincoln embarked on the RAF Lincolnshire campaign with the What’s On Guide being a pivotal part of our promotion. We were delighted with Bailgate Independent for working with the University of Lincoln's art students to produce yet another stand-out artistic front cover.

The choice of over 50 entries was showcased at an exhibition in the Chapter House at the Cathedral - the selection was exceptional and the winning design was a an excellent representation of the RAF with Steampunk - one of the city’s popular events.

Within three issues the magazine has become part of our marketing for the city and a superb presentation of the range of events and activities we have on offer in the city. We regard the magazine as a great success, demonstrating what can be achieved when we work in partnership!
